Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectation #4: A Self-Directed Responsible Life-Long Learner

The Standard of Practice; Ongoing Professional Learning is congurent with Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectation #4: A self-directed, responsible, life-long learner who:

 • Examines and reflects on one's personal values, abilities, and
aspirations influencing life's choices and opportunities. OCSGE4g

Time is linear. As teaching professionals we are responsible for educating the future. To do so effectively, we need to be connected to the world around us. We have to be flexibile, adaptable, and willing to grow; cognitively, psychological, emotionally, and spiritually. I apporach my  daily interaction with students following the Basilian Father's motto "Teach me Goodness, Teach me Discipline, Teach me Knowledge." As a Catholic educator, I value the ability to make good moral decisions over content knowledge. Having all the information in the world has no use unless you can make good moral decisions to guide your actions. Please view file below for my thoughts on values and trends in secondary school.
